Integrating Collectibles With Playables – The Jump.trade NFT Revolution!

NFTs have revolutionized the way we look at collectibles and art. For a long time since that inception, they were considered to be the gold standard for collectibles because of the inherent attributes of the blockchain technology upon which they are built. This will ensure that the records of ownership are not duplicated or destroyed or tampered with.

The entry of blockchain and NFTs into the world of gaming changed the gaming landscape forever. The in-game assets would hold value even after the game is gone, making them worthy investments. The world of collectibles and gaming, however, remained poled apart and they looked like parallel lines that would never meet although they had similar stories of progression.

What if there was a way to fuse these two most important manifestations of NFT together?

The idea does not seem distant or impossible. It is so simple that the digital equivalent of an extremely collectible item should be made a playable asset in the game.

Enter Jump.trade and Meta Cricket League

The end of April saw the world of NFT witnessing a revolution. Jump.trade, the premium NFT marketplace powered by GuardianLink, introduced its first set of NFTs that would enable you to play the world’s first P2E cricket game, the Meta Cricket League, commonly abbreviated MCL.

A collection of over 55,000 NFTs was sold in less than nine minutes creating a new record (which is almost a habit for GuardianLink)! Well… While we do take pride in the numbers, what makes us even more proud and happy is the way we have converged collectible NFTs and playable NFTs.

The playable NFTs

They are awesome NFTs… No doubt! However, they are quite self-explanatory and do not need a lot of attention. They are classified into multiple levels, presenting different magnitudes of game skills.

What makes these playable NFTs special is that they are upgradable. What makes them even more special is that they get upgraded for every match you “play“ and not every match you “win.“ This is surely an encouragement for players to just participate in the game even if it does not essentially mean winning it.

The collectible NFTs

The NFTs that we have in our arsenal of MCL connections include authenticated signed bets as digital representations from different legendary cricketers. They make a lot of sense as collectibles because you get to own a treasure that anyone would like to physically.

In our endeavor to bridge the gap between collectibles and playable, we made these cricket bat NFTs into game assets. These digital bats will have additional powers in the game than the normal players. The bat, in combination with the player, can become a deadly duo assisting you in winning even the most difficult matches.

The super-awesome signed bats

Having a single bat signed by a single player is definitely special. Imagine having a bat signed by all the players of a team! Doesn’t that make it super special? Let us take it a notch higher! How would you like to play your P2E cricket game on MCL with bats signed by World Cup winning teams of 1983 and 2011 and the World Cup finalists of 2003?!

These bats fittingly called immortal bats, represent the pinnacle of collections in the MCL NFTs. Were you just thinking that these are just collectible digital bats? In the words of MS Dhoni, definitely not!!

These bats also double up as extremely powerful in-game assets that help you ace every ball bowled at you! It is such a thing of pride, pleasure, and power to flaunt to everyone that you have been using a bat signed by some of the biggest legends of the game to play your MCL cricket game… And also earn cash rewards out of the matches that you win!

How does convergence matter?

The world of NFTs has largely been bifurcated! On one side, there are people who would like to collect, flip, and trade NFTs that are pure art. This, passively, deters gamers and other active enthusiasts from participating in such NFT collections. This significantly narrows down the segment of people who purchase/showed interest in a certain set of NFTs.

Flipping (no… We don’t mean that! We literally mean “flipping“!) From this perspective, we have NFT collections that are of extreme interest to gamers. Their aim is not to trade them or flaunt them but only to play using those NFTs in the game. These gaming NFT collectors are not interested in how artistic or collectible the NFT is. They are only concerned about the utility that the NFT offers in the game. In most cases, these games are P2E games.

Does this separation have to exist? It doesn’t seem to be necessary if both these words can be fused together! This is precisely what we did with our MCL NFT collection.

What does this mean?

This means that Jump.trade is the ideal place for both NFT collectors and NFT gamers. If you are a gamer, you get to experience the world of MCL with your NFT collections. If you are a collector, you get to hold some of the most prized, authenticated, and rare bats! Either way, you are bound to find success and profitability in your NFT investments.

Along with the roadmap, we have made plans to rent out NFTs. Therefore, if you are a collector, you could still make a profit from the game itself by renting out your NFTs to other players.

Final words

This revolution brought by GuardianLink in collaboration with Jump.trade represents a point of inflection for the world of gaming, NFTs, and collectibles. No longer with collectors restrict themselves from buying gaming NFTs and no longer will gamers be required to buy NFTs that only help them in gameplay.

Just as much as the line of demarcation between people who can afford NFTs and people who cannot are being rendered obsolete, so is the shibboleth between gaming NFTs and collectible NFTs… And GuardianLink, along with Jump.trade is proud to be a part of the spearhead.
