MCL August Update 2022

MCL August Update 2022

The August Update 2022 is here to introduce and implement a parcel of new quality-of-life improvements to the Meta Cricket League (MCL).

Check out some of the larger changes — like Day/Night Stadiums, Bowler Selection, Rookie-only Tournament, — and then dig into the extended list of gameplay adjustments in a comprehensive breakdown below.

1. NIGHT STADIUM MODE

Nothing beats the thrill of playing a nail-biting, flood-lit match. We’re bringing this excitement into Meta Cricket League as well through a Night Stadium Mode! Tournament matches will alternate randomly between Night and Day mode, adding a new element of challenge to the mix.

2. ROOKIE-ONLY TOURNAMENT

This one has been on our community members’ minds for a long. We’ll be rolling out a Rookie-only Tournament soon, where, as the name suggests, players can only enter with their Rookie Batsmen and Bowlers. This new tournament variation will focus on skill and a level playing field.

3. DISTINCT PITCH VARIETY

In cricket, the pitch influences the flow of the game and this factor should not be any different in Meta Cricket League. Soon, you will be able to view three distinct pitch varieties inside the game — Green Pitch, Dry Pitch, and Normal Pitch. Appearing randomly between tournament matches, the different pitches will oscillate advantage between the batsmen and bowlers, so strategize accordingly.

4. SIX NUMBER AND DISTANCE COUNTER

The glamor behind a six is not only the excitement it brings to the player but also the distance it traveled. Soon, you will be able to calculate how many sixes you have hit as well as how far they have traveled.

What’s more, down the line, there’s a chance that we may reward record-breakers!

5. BOWLER SELECTION CHANGES

Now, enjoy more control over your bowling strategy. For teams with 2 or 3 bowlers, we’re removing the restrictions on using a bowler for consecutive overs.

This way, you can utilize the same bowler for all three overs, without any worries. This allows you to adapt your bowling to the opponent batsman and also ensure your bowlers go on to enjoy that hat-trick hauls uninterrupted.

6. NEW FIELDING ANIMATIONS

The role of the fielders cannot be overstated as they carry out a dual role of controlling opponent runs as well as returning the ball to the bowler. To add more flair and oomph to this role, we’re adding more fielding animations to the game.

7. NEW CAUGHT ANIMATIONS

A significant part of cricket is taking joy in a well-executed catch. To enable our players to elaborate on this wicket-taking excitement, we’re pushing not one, but two caught animations for the game!

8. LEFT-HAND CONTROL OPTIONS

Aimed at making the Meta Cricket League more accessible, the game controls will bring in Left-Hand control options for better support for our left-handed players.

This means that if you select the left-hand controls, the Stroke and Loft buttons will appear on the Left side, while the Shot Direction Radial will appear on the Right side.

Head on to the game settings to implement the changes.

9. TOGGLE VIBRATE SETTINGS

Another game control we’re allowing you to customize is the vibrate settings that get triggered on boundaries.

Head on to the game settings to toggle vibrate mode on or off.

10. EASY HELP SECTION NAVIGATION

We’re phasing out the friction points present in the MCL Help Section by introducing a pagination system to navigate videos. This will make it easy for players to switch between videos without breaking a sweat!

These updates lined up here will appear in phases in future builds of the MCL game!
